Cape Town

When I was invited to a wine tasting festival a long time ago, I was lucky to stumble on one of the best wines in the world which was from South Africa. From thereon, my fascination about South Africa has fired up, from its famous wines , cultural traditions, wildlife game safaris, the highlands, rain forests and caves to its interesting people.
In 2006, I finally granted myself a visit to one of my dream destinations - South Africa. With my finger on the globe, I scaled the distance between South Africa and Germany where I live. South Africa is more than 9000 kilometers away. Even the flight took more than 12 hours, the time difference was only one hour and jetlag was nothing to worry about.

Cape Town was my prime destination and the point of origin for all other expeditions exploring the Western Cape - that is the most south western part of South Africa. Included in my tour were some spectacular locations starting from Cape Town to Camps Bay, Hout Bay, Cape of Good Hope, Fish Hoek, Hermanus, Gansbaai, De Kelders, Agulhas, Mossel Bay, Knysna and back to Cape Town via Oudtshoorn, Swellendam, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
Observing mating whales from the shore, oceans colliding at sea, growls and roars of wild animals and gorgeous landscapes were only a few of the many things that made this trip worthwhile.
